Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has applauded the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) for its landmark achievements in the last 60 years.
Dr. Banigo gave this applause while speaking at a Dinner to Commemorate the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of NACCIMA and the 2020, 4th quarterly meeting in Port Harcourt on Thursday, 26th November, 2020.
The Deputy Governor who congratulated NACCIMA for its resilience and resourcefulness expressed delight that this was happening coincidentally with the Diamond Jubilee of Nigeria as a nation.
“As we believe you for much better 60 years ahead, we also want to wish our nation more strength and resilience and to say we are better together and we are stronger together”. The Deputy Governor stressed.
Dr. Banigo who said there was no better place to hold NACCIMA’s 4th quarterly meeting than Port Harcourt, disclosed that the Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike led Administration’s commitment towards the development, improvement of the standard of living and making the Ease of Doing Business to improve by the day is not negotiable.
According to her, “we are not yet done, we are not resting on our oars, we still have a lot of areas to cover and we are going to do that”. She stressed.
Dr. Banigo further said “right now we are building 6 flyovers in the Metropolis, by no other than the construction giant, Julius Berger that tells you the quality of work we are doing, our Governor is Mr Quality Projects and so all our works are top notch quality”.
Also speaking the National President of NACCIMA Hajia Saratu Iya Aliyu appreciated Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for the developmental strides recorded by his Administration, adding that she has been to Port Harcourt thrice and each time she comes the land scape keeps changing with quality projects, which according to her makes it possible for the business community to really enjoy doing their business in Port Harcourt.
In his remarks the President of the Port Harcourt Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture Chief Nabil Saleh said in April 1960 the Chamber Movement as a voluntary association was incorporated under the name Association of Chamber of Commerce of Nigeria and the Southern Cameron which later metamorphosed to NACCIMA.
He said from inception NACCIMA as a non-profit organization has remained the backdrop of businesses in the Country, as an umbrella body for all the Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria, adding that NACCIMA also partners with Embassies outside Country.
