BANIGO REAFFIRM GOVERNMENT’S COMMITMENT TO HELP BUSINESSES THRIVE

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo says the Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike led Administration would continue to create a favourable climate for businesses to thrive in the State.

Dr. Banigo stated this during a programme organized to celebrate Nigeria at 60 by International Breweries PLC in Oginigba Port Harcourt on Friday, 2nd October, 2020.

The Deputy Governor said out of the eight sea Ports in Nigeria two are sited in Port Harcourt, noting that the city is the hub of the Hydro Carbon Industry in Nigeria.

“There are lots of potentials for your plant to grow and to employ more workers and to be able to sell your products not only in Nigeria but across the globe, we look forward to a situation where our agricultural produce can also give you some of the natural materials you can use”. Dr. Banigo stressed.

Dr. Banigo said despite all the challenges plaguing the nation, Nigerians should be   proud of their country, noting that the country’s is the most populous African country with a population of 195.9 million people according to the 2018 World Bank and United Nations estimate.

According to her one in every four African is a Nigerian, stressing that the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to reach 250.00 USD Billion by the end of the year 2020, which makes Nigeria truly the Giant of Africa.

In his welcome remarks the Plant Manager Akintayo Oguntunde, said as a business that brings people together for a better worth the Company decided to set aside a day to celebrate the nation’s Diamond Jubilee Independence Day Anniversary, noting that it is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

Also speaking the Manager Corporate Affairs Mrs. Marian Reginald thanked the Rivers State Government for their support over the years, noting that PABOD is the brain child of Rivers State.
